Rouhani: Imposing sanctions is a failed policy

Tehran, (ST) –  Iranian President Hassan Rouhani affirmed that the policy of imposing sanctions has proven its failure, stressing that, the steadfastness of the Iranian people in front of the embargo and the American economic war have produced great facts before the world.

During the meeting of the Iranian government’s Economic Coordination Committee, Rouhani called on Western countries that adopt the sanctions policy to stop this approach, adding that the outgoing US President Donald Trump had never realized the reality of Iran’s capabilities and acted on his delusions.

Rouhani referred to Iran’s economic power and capacity as two important and decisive facts and said that “although the economic war has caused a lot of damage, including on the citizens’ livelihood, the sanctions and war advocates who had expected the collapse of the Iranian economy in a short period are now leaving the White House while the people The Iranian stands tall and victorious more than ever in an asymmetric economic war.

Rouhani indicated that the Iranian government’s programs during this period were aimed at addressing the negative effects of the economic war and the negative effects caused by the spread of the Corona virus on the society in Iran.
