Syria welcomes results of Venezuela’s parliamentary elections

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has stressed that the results of the parliamentary elections in Venezuela represent a strong response to the schemes of the American administration and its tools, according to an official source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In a statement to SANA on Thursday, the source said that Syria welcomes the results of the legislative elections in Venezuela and considers them as a strong response to the US administration’s interventionist policy in the country.

The source stressed that these elections have laid a strong foundation to enhance national unity in Venezuela and to maintain security and stability as a strong base for the country’s development process.

The Syrian Arab Republic extends its sincere congratulations to the friendly Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as leadership, government and people, on the success of this electoral process and confirms that the results of these elections constitute a defeat for the US policy of arrogance and hegemony, the source concluded.
