Greece: Turkey will not change its behavior in the region without pressure

Athena,(ST)-Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed that the regime of Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not change its provocative and aggressive practices in the region without pressure from the European Union.

“Greece cannot wait for Turkey to change its behavior if pressure is not put on it,” Mitsotakis said during his video participation in a meeting of the European People’s Party leadership yesterday, according to TASS.

Mitsotakis pointed out that this regime rejected Europe’s proposal to stick to the positive agenda when it chose the unilateral approach in the eastern Mediterranean, which will not remain without consequences.

The European Union had recently warned the Turkish regime of the consequences of continuing its escalation policy in the eastern Mediterranean, indicating that the coming days will be “decisive” in the relationship with Ankara. It is decided that the leaders of the Union will discuss the matter at the summit scheduled to be held today and tomorrow.
