People of occupied Golan: We stand against Israeli occupation’s plans and adhere to Syrian Arab identity

People of the occupied Syrian Golan affirmed their stand against the Israeli occupation’s plans to seize the Golan lands, renewing their attachment to every inch of the land of their ancestors and their adherence to the Arab-Syrian identity.

During their confrontation today with the occupation forces who were trying to implement their expansion plan of setting up giant turbines at the factory site, the people of the Golan stressed their rejection of this scheme.

In a phone call with SANA office in Quneitra, the liberated prisoner, Suleiman al-Maqt, confirmed that the people of the Golan would thwart the Zionist plan, which aims at seizing the lands of the Golan in the villages of Majdal Shams, Baqatha, Masada, Sahita and Ein Qiniya. He stressed that the people of the Golan will confront this project and will defend their land whatever the cost is.

In turn, Sheikh Faris Shams, one of the Golan locals, indicated that the occupation authorities’ arrogance and repressive policy would not deter them from confronting their plans to seize by force the lands of the occupied Syrian Golan.

Sheikh Fuad Masoud reiterated that the people of the Golan are clinging to their land and not allowing the occupation authorities to establish the giant turbine project, noting that they will defend their right by all means and methods.

Sheikh Atef Shaalan called on international organizations and human rights organizations to intervene and put pressure on the occupation authorities to prevent them from implementing the settlement expansion project. He added that this project will deprive farmers of a large part of their lands due to installing turbines and paving roads leading to it. The Israeli occupation forces have closed a number of the main entrances to the villages of the occupied Syrian Golan and prevented the people from reaching their agricultural lands in the areas that the occupation authorities want to build giant turbines on. So, the people have been gathering on the roads leading to the agricultural lands in the areas of Majdal Shams, Sahita, Baqatha and Masada since the morning.
