The Turkish regime’s authorities has launched a new arrest campaign against more Turkish citizens over alleged involvement in a coup attempt in Turkey in July, 2016.
Turkish media reported on Saturday that the counterterrorism teams of Istanbul Police Department stormed 32 sites in the city and arrested 35 citizens over alleged links to Turkish preacher Fethullah Gulen whom the Turkish government accuses of masterminding the July coup attempt.
Since the coup attempt, Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime has launched a countrywide crackdown targeting its opponents. Tens of thousands of people have been arrested and dismissed from work in various civil and military institutions in the country.
