Egyptian politician: Caesar Act aims to put more pressure on Syria

Cairo (ST):  Head of the Egyptian Al-Wifaq pan-Arab party Mohammad Refa’t affirmed that the US was practicing its barbaric  role against Syria through besieging it economically.

In a statement he made today, Refa’t said that the unilateral coercive measures against Syria are illegal and unacceptable, noting that the so-called Caesar Act aims to put more pressure on Syria, especially in light of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic and in an attempt to prevent foreign investments in Syria.

He concluded that Washington was supporting terrorism and mercenaries in Syria which has been adhering to national and pan-Arab causes.
