The United Nations confirms its condemnation of any assassination

On November 28, the United Nations affirmed its condemnation of any assassination or killing as outside the framework of international law.

 This came in a comment by a UN spokesperson on the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, near the Iranian capital, Tehran.

“We condemn any assassination or extrajudicial killing.We urge the necessity of avoiding any actions that would lead to an escalation of tension in the region,”Agence France-Presse quoted the UN spokesman as saying.

On November 27th, the Iranian Ministry of Defense announced the assassination of Fakhrizadeh, following a terrorist operation near Tehran.
