France threatens Turkey with European sanctions over the transfer of terrorists from Syria to Karabakh
On November 28th, French Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoine said that his country is discussing with its European partners the possibility of imposing sanctions on the Turkish regime for transporting terrorists from Syria to the Karabakh region.
“French President Emmanuel Macron had spoken publicly about the Turkish regime’s transfer of mercenaries to Karabakh,” Russia Today quoted Lemoine as saying at a press conference held today in Yerevan.
Lemoine said that Paris expects Ankara to take actual steps to expel the militants from the disputed region.
Lemoine said that France and the other co-chairs of the Minsk Group, Russia and the United States, made every effort to stop the fighting in the Karabakh region.
