PROVINCES,(ST)_Intense fighting has flared up in the northern Aleppo province as several towns in the eastern Hama countryside have reportedly become under the Syrian Arab army’s control.
In details, units of the armed forces confronted Monday armed terrorist groups’ attacks on the Aleppo central prison and Meneg military airbase resulted in the killing and injuring of many terrorists.
An official source stated that the armed forces targeted terrorist groupings at ‘al-Kholandi’ fuel station and eliminated 6 terrorists in a farm, north-west Hilan, in the surrounding area of the prison.
It added that the Meneg airbase’s guards repelled terrorists’ bid to infiltrate from the eastern-western side into the airbase, noting that fierce clashes broke out in Khan al-Assal, Sheikh Maqsod, Bistan al-Qaser, and al-Amereyeh areas in Aleppo province.
Meanwhile, 5 towns –Mas’adeh, Abo Hanaya, Mas’od, Selbeh, and Klib al-Thawr- in the eastern Hama countryside have been declared safe after cleansing them of terrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front and the so-called ‘al-Farouq battalion’.
furthermore, units of armed forces have imposed control over the Selbeh Oil station in the same province (Hama) and dismantled two explosive devices weighing 75 kg/each planted on Kernaz-Sqelbeyeh road.
Continued operations outside Damascus
Outside the capital, the armed forces continue carrying out operations against foreign-backed terrorist groupings in al-Bahhareyeh farms, Harasta, al-Shefoneyeh,Hajjera, Jerod and al-Rhebeh areas.

At the same time, it was reported that a field hospital and a tunnel full of weapons and ammunitions were found in Wadi al-Sayeh and the eastern Bweda areas in the central Homs province. while competent authorities seized a big quantity of ammunitions in Ra’as al-En quarter in Banyas city.
Two hideouts of terrorists on Damascus-Homs road and in al-Rastan area were pounded by the armed forces.
Shells shake al-Salameyeh countryside
In a separate incident, al-Nusra Front-linked terrorists fired two mortar shells on a residential area in the eastern al-Salameyeh countryside in Hama province.
“The shells landed on a health center and a home in al-Saen area leaving casualties and serious damages at the scene,” an official source said.
It added that terrorists from al-Nusra Front had infiltrated into the western quarter of the aforementioned area and abducted a family of four people.
Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims at weakening the Syrian Arab army and destroying its national economy to serve Israel’s interests in the region.
