Lavrov: No alternative for the political solution in Syria

Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has reiterated his country’s unchanged stand that there is no alternative for the political solution in Syria.

A statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov affirmed during a telephone call with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi Russia’s unwavering stand which is adherent to the political solution of the crisis in Syria based on the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 and the outcome of the national dialogue conference held in Sochi.

The statement said that the two ministers discussed the situation in Syria and their contribution to resolving its problems in light of the recent International Conference decisions on the return of the Syrian refugees held in Damascus on November 11th and 12th .
