Grosbic: Western countries’ boycott of conference on return of refugees is evidence that it is the cause of the crisis in Syria

Head of the Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria, Dr. Stanislav Grosbic, affirmed that the boycott by Western countries of the international conference on the return of refugees held in Damascus last week is new evidence that these countries that pay lip service to humanity are not keen to solve the crisis that Syria is suffering from.

“The countries that boycotted the conference are the same that caused the crisis that Syria has been suffering from  for years, which began with a foreign conspiracy and terrorist aggression that led to a great tragedy for the Syrians,” Grossbich said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Prague on Wednesday.

He described the Western countries ’boycott of the conference as a   “stain”, noting that this matter reflects the true image of the West, away from paying lip service to their slogans of humanity and keenness to realize security and peace in the world.

Grosbich referred to the repercussions of sanctions and coercive measures imposed by the European Union and the United States on the reconstruction of Syria and creating conditions for the return of the displaced to their homes, pointing to the aggressive and provocative role that the Turkish regime plays in this context.
