EU criticizes Erdogan’s provocative acts in Cyprus

Brussels (ST): EU Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano  has criticized the provocative acts committed by the President of the Turkish regime in Cyprus that caused an atmosphere of non-confidence and an aggravation of tension between the EU and this regime.

Aki news agency (Kyrgyz news agency) quoted Stano as saying commenting on the visit paid by Erdogan to Varosha resort in Cyprus: “Our message is clear. There is no option other than a comprehensive settlement for the Cypriot question based on UN Resolutions No. 550 and 789.”

Stano added that the EU states view Erdogan’s recent behavior as another  provocative act that can be added to several previous Turkish acts towards Greece and Cyprus.

EU leaders said that they would discuss Erdogan’s provocative acts in the eastern Mediterranean and the Island of Cyprus  during their summit next month.
