Eng. Arnous discusses with the Indian ambassador strengthening bilateral cooperation in a number of fields

On November 16th, Prime Minister Hussein Arnous  met with the Indian Ambassador in Damascus, Hafiz al-Rahman.

Eng. Arnous and Hafiz discussed bilateral cooperation in the industrial, electrical, scientific fields, capacity building, e-government, and remote education.

Eng. Arnous said that Syria sees India as a strategic partner, and the two countries have strong historical ties, and it is necessary to activate the memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements  signed between the two sides.

Eng. Arnous called on Indian economic and industrial figures to visit Syria to explore investment opportunities.

Eng. Arnous thanked India’s leadership and people for standing by the Syrian people, their right to determine their future, and their rejection of external interference in their internal affairs.

In turn, the Indian ambassador offered condolences to Eng. Arnous and the Syrian government at the death of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Walid al-Moallem.

Ambassador Hafiz Al-Rahman pointed to the continuation of the educational and training grant programs provided by India and work to achieve an advanced center for information technology in Syria in addition to cooperation in the health field to face the Coronavirus.
