The European Union calls for an end to settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories

The European Union renewed its demand for the Israeli occupation authorities to stop all settlement operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Commissioner for Security and Foreign Policy in the European Union, Josep Borrell, said in a statement on November 15 that the European Union rejects the illegal settlement operations.

“I am extremely concerned about (Israel) announcing the establishment of settlement units between occupied Jerusalem and Bethlehem in the West Bank,” WAFA News Agency quoted Borrell as saying.

Borrell stressed that the European Union’s position on the Israeli settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories hasn’t changed , as all settlement operations are illegal under international law and undermine any opportunity to establish a Palestinian state.
