Hatami: The region would be in danger without the steadfastness of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples in the face of terrorism

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami has said that the steadfastness of the Syrian and Iraqi peoples, their armed forces and their governments in the face of terrorism keep the region safe from an unknown and dangerous situation.

“The behavior of the great powers, led by America, proved that they have long-term plans to destabilize the region,” Hatami said upon his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Jumah Inad al-Jubourion November 14 in Tehran.

Hatami said that the Ministry of Defense in Iran, with its capabilities and great infrastructure that came under the unjust embargo, is ready to meet the needs of the Iraqi armed forces to enhance their defense capabilities.

Hatami added that there is distinguished cooperation between Iran and Iraq in terms of establishing security in the region and combating terrorism.

In turn, the Iraqi Minister of Defense said that the aim of the visit is to strengthen relations between the two countries.
