HASAKA, (ST)- Locals in al-Damkhiyeh al-Kabireh village in the southern countryside of Qamishli organized on Friday a stand to protest against the US and Turkish occupations and the aggressive practices of the US-backed separatist militia called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) towards civilians.
Protesters condemned the seizure and closure of the villages’ schools by the SDF militia and called for the expulsion of the US and Turkish occupation forces. They also condemned the American and western sanctions imposed on the Syrian people.
The protesters carried placards lashing out at the schemes of the US and Turkish occupations that aim at hitting the Syrians’ unity.
Closing the schools and depriving children from their right to education will not dissuade the Syrian people from resisting the occupation and supporting the Syrian Arab army in confronting the occupiers, some of the protesters said.
Mohammad Suleiman, a participant in the stand, said that the international community should stand by the Syrian people to lift the unjust blockade imposed on them targeting their livelihood.”
“The Syrian people, in all its components, seeks peace and confronts all who try to divide it,” he said, demanding that the schools closed by the SDF militia be opened.
The locals expressed their rejection of the American occupation and condemned its practices of stealing Syrian oil and agricultural crops, demanding the expulsion of the American and Turkish occupying forces from the Syrian lands.
