On World Diabetes Day: Ministry of Health offers free treatment to 148,000 diabetic people

Damascus (ST): The World Diabetes Day, which falls tomorrow November 14, reminds the world of the big challenges facing the world in diagnosing and treating it as the number of diabetic people is expected to exceed 400 million by the year 2030.

In Syria, the ministry of health continues to offer free of charge treatment of the disease in addition to raising the awareness of people towards this disease through specialized centres according to the statement of the President of the Chronic Diseases Department Dr. Rania Shifeh.

She said that the number of the diabetic people registered at the Ministry of health amounted to 148,000 in all governorates, noting that all of them receive free of charge treatment.
