Mrs. Asma Al-Assad discusses with the Russian President’s Commissioner for Children’s Rights, the Syrian- Russian efforts to repatriate Russian children from Al-Hawl and Al-Roj camps

Damascus, (ST) – MrsAsma Al-Assad received on Thursday, Mrs. Anna Kuznetsovathe Russian President’s Commissioner for Children’s Rightsand the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the discussion revolved around joint Syrian and Russian efforts to move  Russian children out of Al-Hol and Al-Roj camps.They also spoke about the facilities, physical, psychological, educational and social support for these children, which the Syrian state has provided in this regard.

Mrs. Asma Al-Assad affirmed that Syria is always ready to cooperate in this regard until the last Russian child is moved from these camps. She stressed that, the Syrian state is seriously seeking on more than one level, and in cooperation with the Russian side, to move Syrian children from these camps, and to work hard to restore integration and rehabilitation of returning refugee children with their families .

Mrs. Kuznetsova appreciated the Syrian efforts to repatriate  the Russian children, stressing that Russia will work hard with the Syrian state to exchange experiences regarding the integration and rehabilitation of Syrian refugee children returning to their homes.

The two sides agreed on the need for joint action to launch a constructive and effective dialogue on the issue of children and their integration into the mother community, whether coming from the countries that they have been displaced to or children who have lived for many years under the pressure of terrorism.

The two sides also agreed to continue to work in this regard to develop a clear vision that serves this file at the international level, in cooperation between Russia and Syria, to make everyone aware of their  responsibilities, whether countries that claim that they care about the rights of children, or even international organizations specialized in this regard.
