Russian diplomats and experts: The West is trying to politicize the issue of the return of Syrian refugees to their homes
Russian experts and researchers have said that the issue of the return of displaced Syrians and refugees to their homes has become an objective necessity.
Vice President of the Russian Diplomats Association Andrei Baklanov said: “The United States is still insisting on politicizing the humanitarian issue of the return of the displaced Syrians and is trying to exploit it through rude guidelines that are incompatible with Syrian sovereignty,”
On the Damascus Conference for the return of Syrian refugees, Baklanov said: “ The issue is still in dispute between Russia on the one hand and the United States and some Western and regional countries on the other hand.”
Deputy Head of the Russian Institute for Predictions and Political Settlements Alexander Kuznetsov expressed his regret at Western stances aimed at thwarting humanitarian projects for the Refugees.
Kuznetsov said that Western countries attempt to link the issue of refugees with major issues that are difficult to solve in a short time.
Kuznetsov said that the return of Syrianrefugees to their homes is related to resolving a number of issues raised by the Astana meetings and the National Dialogue Forum in Sochi, the Geneva Conference, and the reconstruction of the economic and social structures destroyed by the terrorist war in Syria.
For his part, the coordinator of Middle Eastern projects at the Russian Council for International Affairs Ruslan Mahmidov praised the Syrian government’s great efforts to support initiatives for the return of Syrians to their homes.
Mahmidov said that the issue of the return of Syrian refugees is not limited to economic difficulties, but also to security challenges that threaten the lives of citizens, in particular and through threatening some terrorist cells and their movements in regions.
