The Students’ Union honors 97 outstanding students from public universities with various specifications
The National Union of Syrian Students honored 97 distinguished students from public universities with various specializations, at the end of the “Your Ambition Distinguishes You” forum for university academic excellence which was organized by the Union over a period of three days.
Darine Suleiman, Head of the National Union of Syrian Students emphasized that the message of excellence is one of the noblest messages of university life, asserting that devoting attention and care to it is a duty and responsibility on all educational, student and development institutions.
Suleiman underlined the importance of boosting cooperation and solidarity of our educational institutions by paying attention to the distinguished as well as following-up, supporting and caring for their academic achievement and their future ambition after graduation in society, economics and education.
Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasized the importance of the forum in shedding light on the distinguished students who won Al-Bassel Prize for Academic Excellence throughout their university years and identifying the factors of their excellence in order to make an example of them to be followed in society.
A number of outstanding students expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the National Union of Syrian Students and all those in charge of the forum which provided an incentive and motivation for them to exert more effort and diligence and provide the best for building the homeland. They highlighted the role of the forum in exchanging experiences between outstanding students in all governorates in order to come up with proposals that contribute to achieving the aspirations of students in the future and to encourage them to excel so that they have an efficient role in society.
The honoring ceremony included the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the outstanding students and the award of the Distinction Medal, in addition to playing musical pieces by Maestro Mahdi Al-Mahdi and singing performances by the singer Sarah Darwish.
The forum was launched last Thursday with the aim of identifying the factors of excellence among the participants, the challenges they faced and the methods of overcoming them, and benefiting from their research ideas and initiatives in developing the educational process.
