Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Palestinian captive Maher al-Akhras continues his open-ended hunger strike for the 103rdsuccessive day in protest against the nonstop Israeli crimes towards Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails .Despite the deterioration of his health conditions the occupation authorities refuse to release him.
The Palestinian Captives Committee warned against the deteriorating health condition of al-Akhras as he is suffering from various health problems including high pressure and cardiac problems that might damage kidneys, liver and lungs.
The committee renewed calls on the international community to assume responsibility and immediately interfere and save Al-AKhras’ life and put pressure on the occupation authorities to halt their deliberate violations of international law and human rights.
Al-Akhras has been subject to arrest by the occupation authorities several times since 1989, the most recent was on July 27, 2020.
