A stand in Al-Bireh protesting against the occupation’s refusal to release the al-Akhras prisoner

Occupied Jerusalem ,(ST)-Dozens of Palestinians participated in the city of Al-Bireh in the West Bank in a protest against the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation towards Palestinian prisoners, and their refusal to release prisoner Maher Al-Akhras who has been on a hunger strike for 100 days.

Wafa Agency reported that the participants in the stand which is  organized by the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoner Club in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Al-Bireh, raised Palestinian flags and pictures of the prisoner Maher Al-Akhras and called upon the international community to pressure the occupation authorities to release Maher Al-Akhras and all the prisoners.

The participants called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene to save the prisoners from infection from the spread of the Coronavirus, after dozens of infections were recorded among the prisoners in Gilboa detention center. They also called on providing them with adequate health care and keeping the risk of infection from the rest of the prisoners.
