Khaji discusses with Pedersen ways to solve the crisis in Syria

Senior Assistant to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji discussed with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, Geir Pederson ways to solve the crisis in Syria.

During the meeting in Tehran on November 2, Khaji stressed the importance of finding solutions for the return of the displaced Syrians, as it is a humanitarian issue whose positive results contribute to pushing the political solution to the crisis in Syria.

 

Khaji called on the international community to actively participate in the International Refugee Conference scheduled to be held this month in Damascus.

Pederson provided clarifications about the results of his recent tour in a number of countries of the region.

Khaji and Pederson expressed their hope that the meeting of the constitutional discussion committee will be held in the near future.
