Armenia confirms that it has conclusive evidence of the Turkish regime’s recruitment of mercenaries and of sending them to Azerbaijan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that there is new ‘conclusive evidence’ that the Turkish regime has recruited and transferred mercenaries from Syria to Azerbaijan.
The Prime Minister published on his Facebook page on November 1 a video showing a mercenary who was arrested by the units of the Karabakh region army.
“Now there is complete and comprehensive evidence for the recruitment of thousands of mercenaries in Syria and their transfer from Turkey to Azerbaijan to participate in the battles in the Karabakh region,” Pashinyan said.
Media reports confirmed that the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s regime sent hundreds of mercenaries from Syria to participate in the battles in the Karabakh region.
The Russian ambassador to Ankara Alexei Yerkhov stressed that at the present time everyone must refrain from steps that might lead to further escalation of the conflict in Nagorny Karabakh.
“We must take into account the main thing, which is that there are battles that kill people, so if anyone now has the slightest chance to influence the course of events and to make any contribution to achieving a real ceasefire, it should be used. Of course everyone should now,” Yerkhov said.
Yerkhov referred to the Turkish regime’s role in the conflict in the Karabakh region by sending mercenaries and terrorists from Syria to there.
“I personally saw videos showing captured militants giving important testimonies, while reports confirmed the widespread participation of militants in the Karabakh conflict, and even more than 200 deaths of them till now, ”Yerkhov said.
Yerkhov said that Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and other Russian officials said earlier that the presence of militants in the conflict zone these days poses a great danger and calls for Russia’s deep concern.
