Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Segey Lavrov discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri the latest developments in Syria and Libya and means of coordinating efforts with the aim of finding political solutions to the crises in the Middle East and North Africa.
Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement quoted by Russia Today website that the two ministers exchanged viewpoints regarding the regional and international agenda with special concentration on finding solutions through diplomatic channels for the crises in the Middle East and North Africa including Syria and Libya.
In another development, Shukri reviewed with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and the Special Envoy of the Russian President to the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov the steps required to achieve progress on the track of the political settlement in Syria in a way that guarantees the sovereignty and unity of the Syrian territories.
