Palestinian prisoner Maher Al-Akhras continues his hunger strike for the 95th consecutive day, in protest against the ongoing crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian prisoners in its detention centers.
WAFA quoted the Prisoners and Released Affairs Commission as saying that the health condition of the prisoner is very dangerous and that he suffers from severe fatigue and stress. He began to feel pain in his heart in addition to physical pain and his sense of smell and taste were affected. There is fear that his vital organs will suffer a sudden setback, which constitutes a real danger threatening his life and worsening every moment, as the occupation authorities continue their flagrant violation of international human rights law and their refusal to release him.
The occupation forces arrested al-Akhras on the 27th of last July. He was previously arrested several times, the first in 1989 for a period of 7 months and the second in 2004 for two years, then he was re-arrested for the third time in 2009 for a period of 16 months and for the fourth time in 2018 for a period of 11 months.
