OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, (ST)- The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday attacked and dispersed anti settlement Palestinian demonstrators in Masafer Yatta area near the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Rateb Jabour, coordinator of the anti-settlements and anti-apartheid wall committees, told WAFA news agency that the protest was organized in response to the growing Israeli colonial settlement activities in the area and against Israel’s decision to confiscate 360 hectares of Palestinian-owned land in “Khirbet al-Tha`la” and Khirbet“Umm Zaitouneh” in Masafer Yatta for building the illegal Israeli settlements.
Within the framework of its judaization and aggressive plans to displace the Palestinians, the Israeli occupation has escalated settlement operations in the West Bank, ignoring international resolutions, especially the Security Council Resolution No. 2334 which affirms the illegality of settlements in the Occupied Palestinian territories and demands the immediate stopping of these activities.
Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Israeli occupation continues to blatantly violate the international law
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has stressed that preventing Palestinian worshippers from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque and the old city in occupied al-Quds by the Israeli occupation authorities for the fourth consecutive week constitutes a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions.
In a statement reported by WAFA news agency, the Ministry said that this repressive Israeli behavior comes with the framework of the occupation’s continuous war that targets the Palestinian presence in occupied al-Quds and confirms the occupation’s racist, colonialist and expansionist schemes in the land of Palestine.
The ministry called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and provide international protection to the Palestinian People, their land and sanctities, because the international community’s inaction encourages the occupation authorities to go far in implementing their illegal schemes, particularly targeting the Palestinian sanctities, mainly al-Aqsa Mosque.
