Lattakia Agriculture Department has completed the assessment of damages caused by blazes that erupted in Lattakia province last Friday and Saturday.
According to the Director of Agriculture Department Eng. Monzer Kherbek, 13644 farmers have been affected by the blazes.
“4500 tons of olives and 17.000 tons of citrus fruits were damaged, while the number of trees that were burnt reached 1.455.632,” Kherbek said.
He added that 65 cows out of 39.000 ones were dead, while 6799 beehives out of 80.000 ones were damaged.
7190 hectares were damaged ,which represent 9% of the area of planted lands in the province .
