Syria & Russia review means of increasing trade exchange and mutual investments

Moscow(ST):  A session of official talks was held this morning co-chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov and Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam.

The two delegation highly evaluated the talks held between the two sides  and their outcome which included recommendations on the practical and executive measures to complete bilateral cooperation in all domains.

Borisov renewed the stand of his country that these talks  came within the framework of starting projects of cooperation between the two states in the commercial, agricultural and industrial sectors and enhancing the requirements of the Syrian market in light of the difficulties Syrian citizens face because of the siege and the coercive economic measures being imposed on Syria.

 

Stress was laid on the importance of increasing the bulk of trade exchange and mutual investment between Syria and Russia.

The Russian delegation included representatives from the  Foreign Ministry and the ministries of Finance, Economic Development, Energy, Industry, Agriculture and Trade.

The Syrian delegation included Minister of Economy and External Trade Dr. Mohammad Samer al-Khalil, Minister of Finance Dr. Kenan Yaghi, Dr. Qais Khider, Secretary General of the Cabinet and Dr. Hazem Qarfoul Governor of Syrian Central Bank, Dr. Thurai Edelbi Deputy Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission and Dr. Mona al-Said from the Presidency Office.

The meeting was attended by Syria’s ambassador to Russia Dr. Riyad Haddad.
