MOSCOW, (ST)- Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad held the Turkish regime fully responsible for the free movement of terrorists across the Syrian-Turkish borders.
In a statement to the Russian Interfax News Agency on Saturday, Haddad commented on transferring terrorists from Syria to Nagorno Karabakh province by the Turkish regime. He said “This information undoubtedly confirms that Syria has been right when it warned that the terrorists, which were sent to the Syrian territories to destabilize the country during the past nine years, pose a serious threat to international and regional peace and security and that Syria won’t be their last stop.”
He pointed out that that the new facts necessitate a deterrent international action against the Turkish regime’s provocative practices which contradict the rules of the international law.
Haddad clarified that Syria has repeatedly stressed the need to fight international terrorism and punish its supporters, mainly the Turkish occupation forces.
On Thursday, the Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on information about sending mercenaries from Syria and Libya to Karabakh province by the Turkish regime. He affirmed that transferring those gunmen from Syria and Libya to the disputed province of Nagorno-Karabakh poses a threat to the region.
