Syria deeply regrets confrontations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, warns against Turkey’s flagrant interference in this conflict
DAMASCUS, (ST)- Syria has deeply regretted the ongoing confrontation between Armenia and Azebaijan, warning against Turkish flagrant interference in this conflict which aims at exacerbating the situation to serve the Turkish regime’s policies in creating tensions and fueling sedition in several parts of the world.
“The Syrian Arab Republic expresses its deep regret at the current confrontation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which has claimed the lives of a large number of victims from both sides, an official source at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA on Saturday.
The source conveyed Syria’s condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and its wishes for a speedy recovery of the wounded.
The source went on to say that “Syria calls on the two neighbors – Armenia and Azerbaijan- to put an end to the current escalation and find a peaceful settlement to their conflict. Syria also warns against the flagrant Turkish interference in this conflict which aims at exacerbating the situation to serve the policies of the Turkish regime in creating tensions and feeding sedition in different places in the world.
Syria calls on the Azerbaijani government to be cautious not to fall into the trap of the Turkish scheme and to respond to the Armenian initiatives for abandoning confrontation and for launching dialogue in order to find peaceful solution to the conflict.
