Spur of the moment paintings in the exhibition of Dana Al-Nafouri

The National Center for Visual Arts in Damascus is currently hosting the  solo exhibition for the young artist,  Dana Al-Nafouri.

Dana Al-Nafouri, transferred the Qalamoun environment with its simplicity and originality to paper, embodying its mountains, plains and plateaus. She mixed different techniques in painting to present this beautiful environment to the visitors of her first solo exhibition.

In  her solo exhibition there are more than 30 diverse  color paintings in various sizes depicting randomness and scattered lines that reflected the youth talents and the life.

 

 

Dana  Al-Nafouri  said to Syria Times (e- news paper)  that when she used to travel between Damascus and Nabek area , she would get her inspiration, ”I painted the natural scenes in a rapid way under the sun light, and captured different scenes”, Dana said  .Then she simply re-embodied the paintings that she had painted rapidly on her papers. She indicated that she relied on techniques that combine water on cardboard and water on paper, pastel and oil.

Al-Nafouri hopes to hold more exhibitions  to continue displaying her paintings to visitors, to acquaint people with her paintings and to gain more experience.

It is noteworthy that Al-Nafouri is a graduator from Adham Ismail Institute in 2005 and graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts in Damscus.

The exhibition presented the talent of a young artist who was able to draw and express the Qalamoun environment through rapid paintings that personified the Qalamoun mountains in a sensitive and spontaneous way.
