The Commission pointed out that this is the largest outcome of the awards which were harvested by the Olympiad students at the global level, as Syria advanced in the world ranking of mathematics from the 55th rank to the 47th rank.
The World Mathematics Olympiad, which took place on the twenty-first and twenty-second of this month, included two rounds of exams, each lasting four and a half hours. It included a set of high-level questions in mathematics. The required technical measures were taken by the organizing committee of the Olympiad in Russia, including filming live video of students passing exams from the designated center in Damascus.
