Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his demand for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in holding the officials of the Israeli occupation entity accountable for their crimes against the Palestinians and establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
“The Palestinian cause remains the biggest test for the credibility of international system, and the Palestinian people are still waiting for the United Nations to shoulder its full responsibility in achieving a settlement of the Palestinian cause in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions,” Abbas said in a speech delivered today on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.
Abbas stressed that the Palestinian people will remain steadfast and will continue their struggle until the termination of the occupation and the establishment of their independent state on the line of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
