9,061 martyred and 32,000 others wounded since the beginning of the Israeli occupation aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip

The number of victims of the Israeli occupation aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip, which continues for the twenty-seventh day, has risen to 9,061 martyrs, including 3,760 children and 32,000 wounded. In addition, the aggression caused massive destruction to residential neighborhoods and infrastructure as well as the collapse of the health system and the deterioration of humanitarian conditions, due to the occupation cutting off electricity and water and preventing the entry of fuel and necessities, according to a statement by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The Ministry pointed out that 135 medical personnel were martyred and 25 ambulances were destroyed. In addition, the occupation targeted more than 100 health institutions, putting 16 hospitals and 32 primary care centers out of service, as a result of the targeting and the depletion of fuel.

The Ministry explained that the occupation prevents the evacuation of the wounded outside Gaza Strip and prevents their transfer from hospitals in the north and center of the Gaza Strip to hospitals in the South due to the Occupation’s continuous bombing and cutting off the roads connecting the north and south of the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry warned of an imminent health catastrophe due to the cessation of the main electricity generator in the Indonesian Hospital and the imminent cessation of the main electricity generator in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex.

The Ministry appealed to the international community to expedite the introduction of fuel and medical aid to the hospitals of Gaza Strip so as to save the lives of the wounded and the sick and to provide a safe passage for the exit of the wounded who suffer serious and complex cases which necessitate treatment outside the collapsed Gaza Strip hospitals.

The Ministry called on the international community to break its silence over the occupation’s massacres and activate international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention to protect the people of Gaza Strip, medical teams, health institutions, shelter centers and places of displacement..
