90.000 hectares have been Cultivated with wheat in Hama

Hama, (ST) – The area cultivated with the wheat within the lands under the supervision of the work of the Hama Agriculture Directorate and the General Authority for Forest Management and Development has amounted to 90 thousand hectares, since the beginning of the cultivation operations to date.

Dr. Sattam Khalil, Assistant Director of Agriculture, explained to SANA reporter that 43,000 hectares have been cultivated with wheat  in the lands under the supervision of the Directorate’s work in the districts of Masyaf, Salamiyah, Mahardah, Hamra, Hama and Suran. He indicated that the cultivation operations and the survey of the areas are continuing, so the final areas are expected to be larger than those currently mentioned.

For his part, Director of Plant Wealth at the Public Authority for Forest Management and Development, Eng. Wafiq Zarrouf, indicated that 49,000 hectares have been cultivated in various areas of agricultural stabilization under the supervision of the Authority’s work, out of the total agricultural plan for the current season, which amounts to 52,725 hectares. He indicated that all production requirements, including fertilizers, seeds and fuel are available, and the good rainfall this season contributed to the implementation of most of the plan’s goals.
