9 new breaches of cessation of hostilities agreement observed

Lattakia – The number of breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement by the terrorist groups in Syria reached 1040 since the agreement came into force on February 27th, SANA reported.

The Hmeimim-based Russian center monitoring the agreement, said that 9 breaches of the cessation of hostilities agreement were observed over the past 24 hours, 6 in Damascus countryside and 3 in Lattakia countryside.

The center added in a statement that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam attacked with mortar shells a number of towns and areas in the Eastern Ghota in Damascus countryside.

The center added that terrorists of the so-called “Ahrar al-Sham” shelled the village of Ain al-Qantara with directed rockets, and terrorists groups from the so-called al-Jaish al-Hur attacked with tanks and mortar shells the villages of Kinssaba and Kalaz in the countryside of the coastal Lattakia province.

The center indicated that terrorists from the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations are continuing their attempts to prevent the agreement of the cessation of hostilities in Syria from being applied.

The center announced that the over the past 24 hours, the terrorist groups attacked with rocket launchers and mortar shells the neighborhoods of al-Ansar, al-Layramoun and al-Castello, in addition to the cement and tanning factories in Aleppo province.

5  new towns have joined the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria, four of which in Lattakia province and one in Homs province as the total number of the towns and areas which have joined the agreement reached 444 while the number of the terrorist groups which announced their adherence to the principles of the agreement is still 69, according to the Russian center.

The center said that more than seven tons of humanitarian aid including rice, sugar, tea, meat and canned fish, have been delivered to the locals in Aleppo city, and three tons of flour to the bakery in al-Qaryatain in Homs.
