ALEPPO, Dec.20, (ST)- Free medical services are being offered to citizens through more than 80 medical points, which the health sector has deployed in the city of Aleppo and its countryside since its liberation from terrorism.
The Director of Aleppo Health Directorate, Dr. Ziyad Al-Hajj Taha, told the reporter of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that during the current year, several health centers were put into service in the Salaheddin neighborhood and in the eastern countryside of the town of Humaymah in the city of Deir Hafer and in the town of Kafr Dael.
He added that two health centers in the towns of Al-Zarba and Arran were equipped to be put into service soon, and the emergency department was equipped in Zahi Azraq Hospital with a capacity of 30 beds, to be also put into service in the coming days.
Hajj Taha referred to the continuity of implementing health programs to provide health care to citizens, the most important of which is the national vaccination program that is being implemented in the governorate through giving free vaccinations periodically and permanently to children and dropouts to immunize them against diseases،
“ Work has been done to provide vaccination teams in unsafe areas with vaccines to follow up on the implementation of vaccination programs that target children,” he asserted.
He in addition affirmed that the Directorate is carrying out a vaccination campaign against cholera in the endemic areas in the city of Aleppo through 17 health centers and 50 mobile teams to provide the vaccine to citizens, indicating the continuity of the work around the clock to serve the citizens and offer medical aid to them either in the place or by transportation patients to hospitals.
For his part, the head of the Martyrs’ Health Center in the Al-Sukari neighborhood, Dr. Mohammad Walid Al-Obeid, said that free medical services and treatment are being offered to about 32,000 people in the neighborhood and nearby areas in Al-Firdaws and Al-Ansari Al-Sharqi after putting the center into service in 2019.
