75 Arab artists participated in “peace candles’ exhibition in Damascus

About 100 paintings by 75 Arab artists depicting wishes for restoration of peace and stability to the Arab world have been featured in the exhibitions recently held in the Damascus Opera House under the title ‘peace candles’.

The artists used several symbols such as white pigeon, olive branch, sunlight and Jasmine to express their wishes for the restoration of peace to all Arab countries, including Syria, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency quoted the artist Mrs. Lina Rezeq as saying that the preparation for the exhibition – held Thursday- started four months ago and the participating Arab artists want to tell the whole world that Syria is the land of peace, love, civilization and culture.

On her part the artist Najwa Ahmad said that the artists’ works are candles for peace.

The Damascus Opera House also witnessed an evening concert where the Lebanese singer Gabriel Abdulnoursang new songs saluting the steadfastness of Syria in confronting terrorism.

To sum up, the Arab artists have proved that art can bring us together despite what is going on in the region.

Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war have been waged against Syria targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with US-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
