Damascus Countryside, (ST)- Some 700 foreign-backed gunmen are expected to leave the city of Daraya, southwest Damascus, to Idleb after they hand over their heavy and medium weapons to the Syrian Arab Army within the framework of settlement agreement signed between the armed groups in the city and the Syrian Army.
According to the deal, families in the city will be moved to makeshift shelter centers in Damascus and Damascus countryside, Head of Daraya Municipality Marwan Obeid told SANA reporter on Thursday.
The agreement paves the way for the state institutions to start work and the locals displaced from the city to return.
The Syrian army has recently intensified its operations against the terrorist groups having positions in Daraya, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
