68178 applicants will vie for 19086 seats in the country’s local administration elections

Head of the Higher Judicial Committee on Elections Jihad Murad has announced that 68178 applicants will vie for 19086 seats in the country’s local administration elections due to be held on September 18th, 2022.

In a statement to SANA on Friday, Murad said that the nomination committee will announce the final list of the candidates whose applications are accepted on August 15th.  The nominees, who are not accepted, can present their objections to the branch judicial committee within the 3 days that follow the announcement of the list, he added.

Murad clarified that August 21 is expected to be the last day for notifying the candidates about accepting their applications and then the candidates can launch their electoral campaigns.
