Terrorist crimes perpetrated in Syria was the title of a symposium held yesterday in Tishreen newspaper’s headquarter in Damascus where official statistics about organ theft, blasts and victims were announced.
The former chairman of forensic medicine commission Dr. Hussien Nofal declared that over 18.000 cases of the theft of human organs, mostly in Turkey, were documented and 40-50 martyrs were escorted daily to their final resting place from hospitals in Damascus and its countryside.
“Since March 18, 2011, the criminal acts- murder, abduction, mutilation, explosions and mortar attacks- have increased and the number of victims has reached up to more than 400.000,” Nofal said, indicating that number of wounded persons is 5 to 10 times higher than the number of victims in wars. i.e. 2-4 million wounded persons.
“The most brutal crime was perpetrated in Lattakia countryside where 50 bodies were subject to all forms of torture. While the other savage crime was committed in Adra city outside Damascus where 250 dead bodies were found. A third savage crime was committed in al-Tal area in Damascus countryside where 50 bodies of soldiers were discovered and all of them were blindfolded and had their hands tied behind them,” he added.
Nofel, in addition, asserted the explosion, hit security area in 2011 in Damascus, killed a lot of persons and the remains of bodies were put in more than 34 bags of a length of 2 meter/ each.
Mortar attacks killed 2170 persons in 2015 and 2016
In the same context, Political analyst Taleb Ibrahim said: “Statistics show that mortar attacks wounded over 7.000 persons and killed 1370 others in residential areas in 2015, compared to 4.000 wounded persons and 800 martyrs in 2016.
“The total number of mortar shells and rockets fell in residential and besieged areas- such as Kafraya, al-Foua, Nobbul and al-Zahra- reached up to 31.326 in 2015, compared to 21.000 in 2016,” he added, stressing that 635 car bombs were exploded and 43 suicide attacks took place in 2015.
“While in 2016, the number of car explosions was 6,” Ibrahim said.
Ministry of Justice has formed committees to document terror crimes, including the international ones, in order to pursue the perpetrators, according to the Judge Ahmad Issa, who affirmed that anti-terrorism court follows up all terror crimes perpetrated against military personnel or civilians.
Actually, all countries that have supported terrorist groups in Syria have violated the UN charter and they must be held accountable.
Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged against Syria targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with US-Zionist plot that seeks to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
