60 Palestinian prisoners go on an open hunger strike

60 Palestinian prisoners joined today the open hunger strike that 30 prisoners began on Tuesday in the Israeli occupation detention centers in protest against the continuing occupation crimes against them.

WAFA News Agency quoted the Prisoners and Liberated Affairs Authority as stating  today that about 60 Palestinian prisoners in the occupation detention centers have started an open-ended hunger strike in protest against the continuing crimes of the Israeli occupation against them, especially  prisoner Maher Al-Akhras who has been on a hunger strike for the 81st consecutive day.

The commission confirmed that all these steps come within a program of struggle that will continue during the next phase through the entry of new batches of prisoners into these strikes.

About five thousand Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation prisons face harsh conditions of detention, as 1,800 prisoners suffer from multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics and germs, among them about 700 prisoners need urgent medical intervention, especially as there are cases of cancer, kidney failure and paraplegia.
