57 identical messages from the People’s Assembly to the heads of Arab and international parliaments condemning the crimes of the Turkish regime for cutting off water from Hasakeh
Damascus (ST): People’s Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh sent 57 identical messages to the presidents and secretaries-general of the United Nations, the Commission for Human Rights and other Arab and international organizations and parliaments, and many heads of parliaments of brotherly and friendly countries calling for condemnation of the ongoing and repeated crimes committed by the occupying Turkish regime by cutting off drinking water for more than a million people in the city of Hasakeh and its vicinity.
In the identical messages, Sabbagh called for exerting all available forms of pressure to stop the heinous crimes of the Turkish regime, indicating that the mentioned crimes of the Turkish occupation constitute a violation of all moral, social, cultural and demographic standards and a flagrant violation of all international charters, laws, norms and resolutions, and an explicit violation of the most basic rules of human rights law and international humanitarian law.
In the letters, Sabbagh stressed that the use of water as a weapon against safe Syrian civilians amounts to a war crime and a crime against humanity, especially since the Allouk station is the main source for securing drinking water for more than a million people in and around Hasakeh, calling for a radical and permanent solution to the problem of this station and not allowing any party to control it, and works to restart it at full capacity to deliver drinking water immediately to more than a million Syrian citizens who are facing extreme thirst, especially in light of the sharp rise in temperatures, which has led to an increase in the suffering of the people there.
