DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE, April.24, (ST)-As Eid Al-Fitr and Labour Day approach, 360 families of martyrs plus 200 workers were honored in Al-Qalamon area in Damascus countryside.
The honoring ceremony was held yesterday in Al-Nabek city in the presence of the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Mohamnas Sief Eddin, the Governor of Damascus Countryside Moataz Abo Al-Naser Jamran, the Head of the Board of Directors of the Charitable Association in Al-Nabek city Bashir Taleb, and several Members of Parliament.
The minister told reporters that the ceremony is an opportunity to meet with the families of the martyrs and to know what they need and to provide them with more support.
For his part, the governor said that the governorate works in coordination with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to support martyrs’ families.
While the Board of Directors of the Charitable Association in Al-Nabek city declared that the association carries out more than one project, including distributing sums of money to 400 families, launching a fasting breakfast (Iftar)initiative that targets 500 families per day and giving food baskets to a number of families.
“ The association will distribute clothes to the children registered in it on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr,” he added.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the honored families and workers expressed their happiness at the annual activity, which is being held in the city.
