50 South African lawyers sue Washington and London, due to their complicity in Israeli occupation crimes
Johannesburg, (ST) – 50 South African lawyers announced that they would sue the American administration and the British government because of their complicity in the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation in Palestine.
RT stated that the initiative led by lawyer Wikus van Rensburg aims to prosecute accomplices in crimes before civil courts, in cooperation with lawyers in the United States and Britain.
In preparation for the case, Rensburg sent letters to a number of countries and the International Criminal Court during the past few weeks. He said in statements: The United States must be held responsible for the crimes committed by Israel.
Rensburg stressed that many lawyers decided to join the initiative, due to their sense of responsibility and their desire to contribute to this cause.
Rensburg said: Unfortunately, no one holds the United States responsible for the crimes it committed, and no one cares about that, and what happened in the 2003 American invasion of Iraq is an example of that.
He added: The United States is busy spending more money and resources to commit the crime, and no one tells it enough.
The International Court of Justice held two public hearings in Hague to consider a lawsuit filed by South Africa against the Israeli occupation on charges of committing genocide crimes against Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
