50 sculptures depict Syrians’ challenge to terror war against Syria
The Ministries of Culture and Tourism held yesterday an art exhibition in the “Dama Rose” Hotel in Damascus entitled ‘ the Pulse of silence’ .
The one-week exhibition included 50 art works by the sculptor Afif Agha depicting the Syrian people’s challenge to the terror war being waged against Syria since 2011, according to the official news agency (SANA).
The agency quoted Mr. Afif Agha as saying that the though of holding the exhibition had come to his mind since the start of the terror war against Syria and he began to implement it since the last year.
“I have chosen the title ‘Pulse of Silence’ in order to refer to the challenge between material, soul and the difficult circumstances the Man is going through to reach silence,” the artist said, adding that he used abstract way in his works to show reality.
On his part, Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. Rami Martini told reporters that the Ministries of Tourism and Culture support creative works that come within the activities of putting Damascus on the UNESCO creative cities list on the one hand and encouraging cultural tourism on the other.
” Tourist and cultural activities have continued despite the current difficult circumstances in order to show the creativity of the Syrian artist,” Mr. Martini said.
The Director of Fine Arts in the Ministry of Culture Mr. Imad Kashout underlined the need to disseminate the cultural tourism and to develop visual culture through exhibitions and meetings.
The artist Affif Agha, 57 years old, is a member of the Union of Visual Artists since 1993. He held 9 individual exhibitions plus several collective exhibitions in Arab and Foreign cultural centers.
Since 2011, a foreign-backed terror war has been waged against Syria targeting its army, people, civilization and infrastructures in accordance with U.S-Zionist plot that aims to fragment the region and to have hegemony over its wealth.
About 360.000 foreign terrorists from 93 countries came to fight against the Syrians from April 2011 till January 2016, according to the German Firil Center for Studies. While media reports have confirmed that Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, the U.S., France, Britain and Israel support – by all means-terrorist organizations operating in Syria.
