Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Five Palestinian prisoners continue their open hunger strike in protest against the continuing Israeli crimes perpetrated against the prisoners.
Wafa news agency quoted the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority as saying in a statement today that the striking prisoners are Kayed phasphous, who has been on strike for 121 days, Alaa al-Araj for 97 days, Hisham Abu Hawash for 88 days, Luay al-Ashqar for 33 days, and Ayyad al-Harimi for 51 days.
The authority pointed out that the five prisoners are suffering from very difficult health conditions, especially Kayed phasphous, who lives in a state of intermittent loss of consciousness, irregular heart rate, and a drop in blood pressure and fluid levels in his body, which makes him vulnerable to a sudden health setback that may threaten his life.
The Commission called on the international community to pressure the occupation authorities to release the five prisoners and save their lives.
Prisoner, Miqdad Al-Qawasmeh, yesterday ended his strike, which lasted for 113 days, and the occupation authorities will release him next February.
