4th Syrian-Russian Follow up Meeting of the International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees kicks off
Activities of the 4th Syrian-Russian Follow up Meeting of the International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees and the Displaced kicked off on Tuesday in Damascus.
According to SANA reporters, several sessions and joint activities are currently being held by the Syrian and Russian sides with the aim of reaching cooperation agreements in different fields, including the distribution of humanitarian aid in several areas.
During the 3-day meeting, a joint session for the Syrian-Russian ministerial coordination commissions will be held in the presence of representatives from the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations.
Joint meetings will also be held in different Syrian provinces covering several sectors, including economy, trade, higher education, education, health, communications, justice, culture, local administration and environment, energy, agriculture and agrarian reform, transport and industry.
The event will also witness the distribution of humanitarian aid and school books in several areas.
The International Conference on the Return of Syrian Refugees held its activities in November, 2020. Its communiqué affirmed Syria’s readiness to secure the return of its nationals to the homeland and to spare no effort as to provide them with decent living conditions.
The communiqué called on the international community to provide necessary support to the refugees and to increase its assistance to the Syrian government through carrying out several projects that have to do with reconstruction and with providing health and medical care, social services and demining services.
