Tunis (ST ) – With the participation of Syria, activities of the 41st session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers began on Monday in the Tunisian capital, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council, Mohammad Bin Ali Kuman, and a number of Arab Interior Ministers. The Syrian delegation was led by Minister of Interior Mohammad Al-Rahmoun.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Al-Rahmoun held ameetings with a number of his counterparts and those responsible for security files in sisterly Arab countries.
In this context, Minister Al-Rahmoun discussed with the President of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), Major General Ahmed Nasser al-Raisi, topics of common interests and Syria’s participation in the conference.
Al- Rahmoun also met the Libyan Minister of Interior Imad Trabelsi to discuss issues related to common security and the need to develop relations between the two countries, especially in the security aspect.
Minister Al-Rahmoun reviewed with a number of his counterparts the security situation in the region and Syria’s role in providing its expertise as to develop a security strategy that helps attain stability and combat terrorism and extremism.
